YOGA CLASSES

SLOW FLOW

This nurturing class combines the beautiful qualities of slow flow yoga with the calming benefits of restorative and yin postures. Class will begin with a slow & intentional flow practice to move energy & open the body gently. Next, you will fall into a state of deep relaxation with longer-held restorative and yin postures supported by props. These postures help to soften and stretch the muscles and rehydrate the connective tissues, resulting in increased mobility and lessened pain.

CHAIR YOGA

Chair Yoga is a gentle class adapting yoga poses with a chair. This class cultivates awareness and deep relaxation through meditation, breath work, and gentle stretches all without the stress of getting up and down off the floor. The chair is used for seated postures and meditation and also for greater stability in standing and balance postures. You will experience the same benefits of other yoga classes, such as improved balance, strength, and mobility. You will also learn techniques to calm the mind and body that can be practiced anywhere.

GENTLE WITH RESTORATIVE YOGA

This class will be experienced close to the ground and heavy on prop-use. The supportive poses are meant to be calming to the central nervous system. Intentionally slowing everything down helps us to move into our
hearts and into the inner vision. The nurturing poses allow the body to soften and open reflexively. In turn, this helps us to re-attune to the heartbeat of the Earth, which is the ultimate way to restore drained energy. At times students may be led in pranayama, conscious breathing practice, or self-applied energetic exercises that are intended to ground, restore, and illuminate the participants. By unplugging from life’s stressors, this class makes space for a nervous system reset.

YIN YOGA

A Wellness Traditions mindful style of yoga that uses longer holds to access the fascia and connective tissue in the body. In Yin Yoga, postures are more passive & completed mainly done on the floor. Yin Yoga is unique in that you are asked to relax in the posture, soften the muscles and move closer to the bone. It is not uncommon to see postures held for 3-7 minutes. The time spent in these postures is much like time spent in meditation. Yin yoga offers much deeper access to the body, particularly the fascia. Fascia connects all connective tissues (that means the muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and blood) Fascia holds together the entire body.
You will leave feeling balanced and renewed.
